Simple Non-Competative Keyword / Phrase Search Engine Ranking Experiment
Alright, this will test the simple ability to rank #1 for a particular keyword. In many cases this would provide zero visitors, but it's a great example of how search engines work, and insightful to beginners. All the text on any website, is an entire array of eligible keywords that potentially may point to ones site in search engines when a keyphrase is search for that's included in the text on a site.
I'm going to make up the keyword: KEYWORDSARESOEASY123
Since no other site will ever include that word in their site, watch how easy
it is to place #1 on Google and Yahoo. "By July 10th 2004, one week
from now, this page should be indexed in the 1 position if you search for keywordsaresoeasy123
even though it will not have any Google PageRank at all, and will have very
little search engine presence / impact." I had estimated that by July
10th 2004(1 week after start of seo experiment) that google and yahoo would
have both indexed the content on our first two SEO experiment pages, but as
with many experiments, such as these, some factors are simply unpredictable.
I'm sure they will be indexed soon, and I will make note when this occurs. We
are waiting for Google and Yahoo both to finish indexing this page and to include
it in their massive database.
